Act I.
Nuvema Town, Unova. Growing up there are a pair of twins--big brother, little sister. They never were the cute sort that parents liked to fawn over, talking in unison and wearing matching clothing and doing all of the typical things twins did. They were the other sort: the polar opposites, constantly tired of having to share everything and then some, always trying to distinguish themselves from one another. Always taking different approaches, opposing ways of thinking. They got along sometimes, if only once in a blue moon; the rest of their relationship was constant sibling rivalry over this or that. The two things they had in common were their friends and their stubborn, bull-headed attitudes.Hilda was the loud and reckless - the charge in headfirst, the 'punch the kid bullying Bianca in the nose and nearly get suspended from school for it'. She was the athlete, the black belt and the soccer star--and the barely-scraping-by in history, thank god for Cheren's tutoring. Where her brother was subtle, she was loud and up front; where he was more the introvert, she rarely spent time alone. One of the few things the twins could agree on was that they'd both do just about anything for their friends; they'd practically been raised with Cheren and Bianca, and it showed. At eleven, twelve years old, they were on the cusp of going off on their journeys when Bianca's parents forbid her to leave until she was an adult, and the quartet swore up and down that if she wasn't leaving, the rest of them weren't either. Seven years worth of birthdays and a graduation later, and a gift-wrapped box is dropped outside the twins' home. Of course, a little white lie to the rest from Bianca quickly grows out of proportion when the box only contains one pokéball once Cheren and Bianca have made their picks. The twins don't waste any time storming off to the lab to get things sorted out; Bianca hesitantly admits she didn't have her father's approval to travel, to the point that he specifically told the Professor not to provide enough pokémon for all four. The twins, of course, couldn't stand to let Bianca stay back. A promise was a promise. Juniper proposed they could share the remaining starter for a few days at most until one or the other caught their own, and they reluctantly accepted.Act II.
The arrangement only served to put the twins at each others throats even more than usual, it seemed. Not five minutes onto Route 1 and they were already fighting over who would get to keep their starter, who got to use it when, and on and on the whole trip. (Their poor little Oshawott had one hell of a time trying to follow their commands those first few days.) At their first gym battle, they struck out twice, each one taking their starter and attempting to go it solo. It would take a miracle to get them working together.Perhaps not the godsend that Cheren and Bianca were hoping for, the twins did have something to unite over when they found a common enemy: Team Plasma. Fighting them was just about the only time they could work in sync, co-commanding their starter and individual pokémon to take them down, one grunt at a time. The slow-moving train wreck that had been their teamwork finally began to disappear....For the most part. Change doesn't happen overnight, and the twins still had plenty to fight over. Even after they reached Castelia, where they finally decided they'd take a team approach (after all, they were both too attatched to their Oshawott for one of them to leave him behind now), they couldn't agree on everything. Their battling as a team was sloppy, and most of their "communication" was criticism; Hilda lacked her brother's patience and strategic planning, while Hilbert fell short compared to his sister's creativity and intuition. Yet in the same vein, they compensated well for one anothers' faults. They reach Icirrus and Hilda is ready to bash heads when the Shadow Triad drag her brother off to wherever Plasma is waiting; in Icirrus, Hilbert doesn't spare a second in finding out the triad has, again, stolen one of the siblings to draw them right to where N wants them. And things suddenly begin to sober; "the twin heroes," N calls them. He speaks of dragons and legends, finding the "lost dragon," supposed remnant of what the legendary Reshiram and Zekrom used to be. The one that was wronged by humans in the past. They follow Plasma's trail, just like he wants them to, all the way to Lanucosa. They watch the frozen remnant, Kyurem, stand alongside N. He tells them that if opposites such as humans and pokémon can truly live in harmony, its up to them to prove it. Find the black and white dragons, he tells them, and defeat Kyurem. Prove that opposing worlds can coexist. The Dragon Stones fall into the twins' hands, followed by words of warning. Legend says the dragons are natural opposites, born of war - they were created to fight. The twins would have to be ready.N beats them to the Pokémon League and soon enough they're in a castle of Team Plasma's making, the throne room of N, facing a dragon that few knew existed until now. Dragons or no dragons, they have every intention of facing Kyurem--and suddenly, the stones react. The twins are chosen as heroes, Hilda of Ideals, Hilbert of Truth. Contrary what they've been warned, the dragons do not fight - rather, the twins can feel its up to them. If they fight, they lose; if they cooperate, they succeed—and succeed they did.But the worst was yet to come. Behind N is the real puppetmaster - Ghetsis. And, oh, Hilda may not have liked N, but she loathes Ghetsis. He spits such horrible things at his son, and Hilda, always fighting for the underdog, steps up to the plate. Recklessness has her abandon any thought of using her pokémon, every intention of separating Ghetsis' worthless skull from his neck with her own damn hands. Hoarse voice, shaking knees, and she marches up to him, ready to pick a fight. She doesn't get farther than "SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH." Where she chooses to do her own fighting, Ghetsis takes under a second to sic a hydreigon on her. Teeth sink into her shoulder. The world becomes a blur.Act III.
Hilda wakes up in a hospital bed several days later. Bianca sobs in joy and just about throws herself on Hilda. Cheren tries to play it cool, but the constant nervous fidgeting makes her suspect he was much more frightened than he'd let on. Her brother fills her in: he'd sent out their samurott almost an instant after Ghetsis' had made his move, suspecting what his sister was going to do. Their starter was a little battered - that hydreigon was clearly trained to destroy, not battle - but still in one piece. Ghetsis had been apprehended, but, according to Cheren, escaped. The Reshiram and Zekrom were currently residing in Dragonspiral Tower. N went off somewhere with a promise to release Kyurem, which they can only assume he'd kept. Her recovery process was a long and frustrating one; surgery and physical therapy meant she could still use her arm well enough, but she was still left with her limitations. Cheren began training to become a gym leader, Bianca studying with Professor Juniper, and her brother - of all people, Hilbert Blake - was recruited for the Interpol! With her friends busy and her brother taking Reshiram off to go overseas and solve mysteries and what have you, she found herself at a loss for what to do. Her aimlessness was only solved when she found herself unable to resist the itch to return to battling - little over a year after the Plasma incident, she took up the mantle of Champion of Unova.(Zekrom, meanwhile, remained at Dragonspiral. Hilda visited often, learning she enjoyed the dragon's company, but it never returned to the league with her. Probably better not to abuse that kind of power, even if it would be awesome to be the single most badass champion in history.)Things took anothe dark turn about two years from the initial incident when Hilbert suddenly stopped contact - not just with her, but their mother, with Cheren and Bianca. Not long after, the International Police told informed her that he'd gone missing; both him and Reshiram were nowhere to be found. Suspecting the worse, Hilda decided to start investigating. As she did, hints of Plasma's involvement in his disappearance became more and more distinct. The first real lead she had - or so she thought - was when she found N. With no recollection of him after the fight - as anyone but an enemy - she was quick to suspect him for playing some part in her brother's disappearance. He (eventually) disproved her theories, and, unfortunately, proved to be a less than reliable source of information on the matter - still, help was help, and as reluctant as she was to trust N, she wasn't going to get to the bottom of this alone.Along with N, another trainer - a kid fresh out of some small town, not unlike Hilda and Hilbert had been two years prior - came out of nowhere to fight against Plasma. And they were one hell of a trainer, at that - they learned faster than just about anybody, fighitng the good fight against Plasma all the while. In the end, they were confronted with Ghetsis—a man driven over the edge by defeat, his plan a desperate attempt to win using whatever means necessary. It was revealed that he had sent the Shadow Triad once again to do his bidding, kidnapping Hilbert and capturing Reshiram to use under Plasma's control. The goal was not to use the dragons, but to destroy them; Kyurem and Reshiram were fused into one being by Plasma's technology—however, two thirds of the original dragon was just the wrong amount. Combined, the new Kyurem wanted nothing but to be whole again, and the longer it went without, the more destructive it became, slowly driving itself to madness until it would likely completely destroy itself in the process. Their plan fell into place when Hilda began searching for her brother, sealing everything into place when they used it as a means to lure her - and Zekrom - to their apparent doom.It was the new trainer, the kid no one had heard of that once again saved the day. Not only did they defeat Ghetsis for the last time, but the combined Reshiram and Kyurem, effectively seperating the two once and for all. It was only after that Hilda finally found her brother and, with the help of N and the new trainer, got him back to safety.Life slowly came back together; this time it was Hilbert's turn to undergo recovery, and Hilda's to fill in the blanks of what he'd missed. Time would come for a proper meeting and reconciliation between the both of them and N before Hilbert returned to his work with the Interpol, and Hilda would spend some time looking forward to the day where trainer that had saved Unova once again would appear at the league's doorstep.Today, life goes on; Hilda lives between her residence at the league and an apartment in Castelia. Of course, the twins still butt heads every now and again as siblings always do, but they keep in contact and Samurott is transferred between them from time to time - however, he does spend more time as Hilbert's partner in his interpol work, whereas Hilda has a complete team without need for him. Zekrom continues to reside at Dragonspiral tower, and Hilda continues to visit the dragon.
Pokemon

Hanzo. Jolly Nature. The twins' shared samurott. Hanzo usually accompaines Hilbert in his interpol work, but occasionally joins Hilda for championship battles when her brother is in Unova.

Raider. Adamant Nature. Caught in the Desert Resort area on the twins' journey alongside Scout. The two have an ongoing rivalry.

Tesla. Modest Nature. Caught on the twins' journey. Tesla was notably named by Hilbert, which Hilda begrudgingly accepted.

E.T. Quiet Nature. Caught on the twins' journey. The member of her team Hilda understands the least, due to his rather alien nature. Loki likes to prank him the most.

Hexcalibur. Mild Nature. One of the most recent additions to Hilda's team, gifted by the Kalos league champion upon their entry to the International League. Hilda calls her "Hex" for short.

Dorito. Hasty Nature. Hatched from an egg gifted to her by Alder after Hilda was released from the hospital. Dorito is Hilda's ace in Hanzo's absence.

Scout. Hasty Nature. Caught on the twins' journey alongside Raider. The two have an ongoing rivalry.

Loki. Sassy Nature. One of the first pokémon Hilda caught on her journey. Hilda's partner in crime (and pranks), these two are regular peas in a pod.

Kingsley. Serious Nature. One of the most recent additons to Hilda's team, Hilda is training Kingsley with the intent to evolve him into kingambit.

Rhys. Brave Nature. A gift from the Sinnoh League when Hilda attended her first International League Conference. Named for the main character of one of Hilda's favorite video games, The Last Aura Guardian.
